Whatever the type of your boat, the hydraulic steering is an essential safety device which needs an indispensable minimal maintenance.
The first step is to check it at dockside while maneuvering several times from port to starboard. This allows you to check that the cylinder moves smoothly to its stops, and that the pump turns regular. Then check that there are no leaks on the steering components (pipes, cylinder and pump). Whether it is an outboard or inboard system (motorboat or sailboat), you can use hydraulic steering systems. This allows for multiple steering positions, a more powerful engine and a smooth steering.

A new lockdown is again introduced in France since midnight 29th October 2020. In the strictest accordance with the recommendations announced by the government, Lecomble & Schmitt remains open, attentive to its customers enquiries with the objective of ensuring the continuity of activity and the best possible service.
This difficult economic period is nevertheless an opportunity to carry out some development work. Thus, a brand new door has been installed in the delivery and shipping department, and the signage has been redesigned with the installation of a brand new totem pole at the entrance to the car park.
While the activity of our company experienced a sharp deceleration during the first weeks of the lockdown (justified by the shutdown of our main clients and suppliers), recovery has been progressively on its way since the beginning of April to be back today to 100% of our production capacity.
In accordance with the recommendations of our local authorities, working conditions have been adjusted in order to ensure the security of our staff: telework, organizational planning to observe safety distances between individuals, face masks and protective visors, hydro-alcoholic solutions for hands and surfaces.
All the conditions have now been met in order to ensure the continuity of activity and the best possible service.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to all our partners for their ongoing support and confidence.
