The cleanliness and the proper maintenance of outboard steering systems are fundamental to ensure the optimal operation and the best durability of all steering systems exposed to the weather and abrasive environment.
LS grease nipple significantly cuts down external pollution (dust, salt, water…) that can deteriorate the inner part of the motor screw tube. Besides, the integrated nipple facilitates the greasing operations which have to be carried out on a regular basis.
The equipped grease nipple fits all Lecomble & Schmitt hydraulic steering systems for outboards up to 175 hp and all types of cable steering.
Lecomble & Schmitt, leading French manufacturer of hydraulic steering systems for boats, export its products to every continent.
In a process of improvement of customs procedures, LS has obtained approved exporter status. The system allows for the proof of preferential origin of the products to be a self-certification on the invoice or other sales documents.
In commercial transactions with countries having concluded preferential agreements with the European Union, LS clients will benefit from a reduction or even from total exemption of import customs duties.
A guarantee for a constant confidence level, the approved exporter status aims at supporting economic competitiveness for the business partners and simplifies customs procedures.
Always anxious to fulfill the market requirements, LS has developed a new power assisted steering system specifically designed for outboard motors and inboard motor boats with a rudder torque up to 185 kgm.
The design of this product allows for a very smooth steering feel.
The use of a brushless motor which is only activated when needed, ensures minimal noise generation and lower electric consumption.
The power pack integrates the autopilot functionality and is compatible with the various market players. Owing to its compact size and simplicity of installation, it can be adapted as an add-on to most existing hydraulic steering systems.
Lecomble & Schmitt has always focused attention on the development and manufacture of high-quality hydraulic steering systems. Follow-through and support of our products is one of the company’s key priorities!
The latest LS cylinder range for outboard single-engines up to 350 hp has benefited from improved technology, making these products increasingly robust.
For simple and efficient maintenance by professionals, LS has developed a full range of tools to maintain the integrity of the cylinder components.
This steer-by-wire steering system has been specifically designed for multiple-rudder configurations on monohull or multihull boats. It combines the advantages of an electric steering and hydraulic power.
In particular, this innovative concept makes the following possible:
> Great ease of installation of the control section and the hydraulic part.
> Removal of all the hydraulic piping in the inhabitable spaces, replaced by small cross-section quick-connect electric wires. [Suite / Read more]

Lecomble & Schmitt will be attending the upcoming boat shows where the new products and the products the company is already best known for will be exhibited: amongst them the range of hydraulic steering systems for outboard motors which is the largest range available on the market with 5 different models suitable for motors from 50 to 700 hp.
In order to meet the increased demand of our clients, this range of steering systems will be systematically supplied with a manual filler kit. You can also find this kit among the many accessories already available in this product category.
The market increasing demand has led us to develop a hydraulic linear drive for sailboats up to 80’.
This new system 63 ST 28 DEBP NEWAVE is based on the technical specifications that have proved so successful in linear drives 32 / 40 ST 16 and 50 ST 20.
This upscale model achieves a thrust of 1100 kg (2447 lbs) for a 300 mm stroke. It becomes the most powerful hydraulic linear drive series-model on the market.
It is as for now already available for sale and will be presented at the next autumn boat shows.
European boat shows are in full swing and visitors can see the equipment displayed by major market players. After Amsterdam, Paris, Dusseldorf and Genoa, Lecomble & Schmitt mobile displays for outboard and inboard steering systems have just been back from the Belgium and the Zagreb boat shows where they have been exhibited on our distributors’ booths.
The success scored during these two events reflects the recovery of the market and gives us hope for a good nautical year.
