Lecomble et Schmitt has developed a range of electro-hydraulic steering systems (DEH) to keep pace with changes in steering equipment.
Electro-hydraulic steering system up to 2 x 2000 m.kg is equipped with a programmable logic controller. This controler constantly analyses information received from the position sensors associated with the cylinders. Furthermore it responds to instructions given by the transmitters (steering wheels and/or joysticks), thus ensuring perfect synchronization of the cylinders.
Depending on the model of electro-hydraulic steering system chosen, a control screen can be used to scroll through pages and menus to activate or deactivate each transmitter or receiver, offering a wide range of uses (safety, maintenance, servicing, etc.). It can also be used to fine-tune rudder angle, speed and reaction settings. Furthermore, it emits alarms (temperature, level, clogging, etc.) and can be used to isolate the components concerned.
Electro-hydraulic steering solves a number of problems onboard, including the elimination of hydraulic circuits in habitable areas, simplification of hydraulic networks (easier filling and draining), and the removal of mechanical tie bars between rudders. This makes it a technically and economically attractive system, meeting market expectations in every respect.
A host of benefits
- Elimination of hydraulic circuits in the living areas of the boat
- Elimination of mechanical links between rudders
- No need for complicated filling and draining of circuits
- Fully in line with market expectations
